Surface forces and structure in model cytosol solutions

Abstract:

In the cellular environment, the cytosol - the aqueous fluid in which organelles are suspended - is of rich chemical diversity and fundamental importance in mediating biochemical processes. The composition of this liquid is carefully regulated to maintain order and function of macromolecular structures in addition to balancing external osmotic pressure.
