Chemical biology of GPR84 – a pro-inflammatory protein

Abstract:

Heptahelical transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) represent crucial targets in medical research. G protein-coupled receptor 84 (GPR84) is a GPCR associated with cancer, inflammatory, and fibrotic diseases. The activation of GPR84 with agonists has shown potential in enhancing bacteria and antibody-dependent cancer cell phagocytosis in macrophages. The objective of this thesis was to optimise the metabolically labile G-protein biased agonist DL-175 into a suitable in vivo
