Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV-1) remains a global health challenge, with more than 38 million people living with the virus and over a million new infections annually. Although antiretroviral therapy has transformed HIV infection into a manageable chronic disease, lifelong treatment, high cost and drug resistance emphasize the urgent need for an effective prophylactic vaccine.
