- 本書將“領域分析”與“層面分析”加以結合，提出了一個複合式的分析框架。從分析的領域來看，本書著眼於“一帶一路”倡議下中國與中南半島國家合作的五個領域（簡稱“五通”），即政策溝通、設施聯通、貿易暢通、資金融通與民心相通。從分析層面來講，本書從邊境、陸路戰略通道和水路戰略通道三個層面來分析中國與中南半島國家的“五通”建設。回溯曆史，本書梳理了中國與中南半島國家建設“五通”的支撐要素，即以陸路和水路通道為依托，華僑華人和跨界民族為紐帶，以佛教文化為穩定劑。接下來，本書基於上述複合式分析框架，探究了“一帶一路”倡議下中國與中南半島國家“五通”建設取得的成績，分析了福建省在“五通”建設中發揮的作用，並重點討論了中國與中南半島國家的“五通”建設存在的主要問題。最後，本書從中國的立場出發，提出一些初步的應對之策。
