- This data set consists of image files in TIFF/PNG format and 2 XML files. These files were created as part of a Digital Editions course, run by the Taylor Institution Library, during Michaelmas Term 2018. The course required participants to create a digitised version of a printed text. This text is Voltaire's Dialogue entre un brahmane et un jésuite sur la nécessité et l'enchaînement des choses (Collection complète des Œuvres de Mr. de Voltaire: Mélanges de littérature, d'histoire et de philosophie. Geneva: Cramer, 1756, vol.4, pp.389-396). The images of the original text were created using a digital camera. The XML files included here contain an encoded transcription of the original text, created and edited using Oxygen XML Editor, according to Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) guidelines, as well as a modernised version of the text, and an English translation.
