Getting behind the headset: exploring clinical reasoning in virtual reality simulation

Abstract:
Background: Clinical Reasoning (CR) is central to health professionals’ competence. CR is poorly defined but includes gathering, synthesising and processing information to diagnose and treat patients. Erroneous reasoning has been associated with significant mortality and morbidity worldwide. Developing CR requires opportunity for explicit repeated practice.
