Human brain acetylcholinesterase

Abstract:

Procedures for the preparative purification of human acetylcholinesterase (AChE; EC 3.1.1.7) have been examined. Chromatofocussing showed caudate nucleus and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) AChE eluting between isoelectric points (pi) of 5.2 - 5.57, whilst isoelectric focussing (IEF) revealed heterogeneous AChE isoforms migrating between pI 4.5 - 6.
