My thesis investigates the cell types and the specific molecular mechanisms involved in the earliest interaction between thalamic axons and the developing cerebral cortex in the human fetal brain. Early thalamic afferents (TCA) provide a major source of extrinsic influence on the intrinsic programmes of cortical neurogenesis.
