Ageing, a universal phenomenon across all life forms, encompasses changes in a myriad of traits through organismal ontogeny. While senescence, the deterioration of traits with advancing age, is expected to be the most common outcome of ageing, there are exceptions, with some species exhibiting no change or even improvements in traits as they advance in age.
