Auditory feedback is crucial for accurate speech production. During speaking, the brain continuously compares predicted auditory outcomes with incoming feedback, and mismatches trigger corrective adjustments that support speech motor control. This thesis investigates speech adaptation using the altered auditory feedback paradigm, in which speakers hear their own speech in near real time with a perturbation to vowel formant frequency.
