Epitaxial oxide ultrathin films and nanostructures

Abstract:

This thesis reports experiments on the epitaxial growth and surface structural characterisation of manganese and niobium oxide ultrathin films and nanocrystals. The earliest stages of growth are investigated involving the stages of nucleation, monolayer film evolution, and the creation of multilayer films and nanostructures.
