Background: Maternal Death Review [MDR] and Maternal Death Surveillance and Response [MDSR] are a compilation of approaches such as verbal autopsy and confidential enquiries. They aim to identify, investigate, and derive lessons from cases of maternal deaths to help prevent future deaths.
