Conventional and novel risk scores for cardiovascular disease in Chinese adults

Abstract:

The research in this thesis concerns the development and evaluation of risk scores for prediction of short-to-medium term and long term (lifetime) risks of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Chinese adults. The research was conducted using data from the China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB), a prospective cohort study with recruitment conducted in 10 diverse regions of China with baseline data collection on approximately 0.5 million adults, and several resurveys in approximately 5% of the original cohort...
