Impact of cerebral small vessel disease on brain and behaviour

Abstract:

Cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) is an important contributor to the development of vascular cognitive impairment and dementia. This thesis employed multimodal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques and behavioural paradigms to investigate the effects of SVD on memory and motivation—key exemplars of the cognitive and neuropsychiatric sequelae of the condition.
