Reclaiming the human: Wittgenstein’s 'Philosophical investigations'

Abstract:

This thesis interprets Wittgenstein's 'Philosophical investigations' as the recurring attempts to reclaim the human from ways in which it is undermined, distorted, or ignored in philosophy. The first three chapters provide the framework for such an interpretation. The last three chapters explore themes opened up from such a perspective.
