Publishing trap
- Abstract:
-
Join Chris Morrison (Copyright & Licensing Specialist) and Sarah Humphreys (Open Scholarship Librarian) to play ‘The Publishing Trap’, a game about copyright and licensing choices in academic publishing.
The Publishing Trap allows participants to explore the impact of scholarly communications choices and discuss the role of open access in research by following the careers of four imaginary researchers – from doctoral research to their academic legacies. Help them make informed choices along the way, when they sign publishing contracts and submit their work to the institutional repository. Find out how author decisions about copyright, open or closed publishing, and money, can affect the options for research dissemination and impact.
