Health workers’ experiences of professional regulation on the ‘frontline’ of service delivery in Ugandan hospitals

Abstract:
How do health workers perceive, experience, and respond to regulation in health systems in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs)? This chapter describes experiences of professional regulation among doctors and nurses/midwives in Ugandan hospitals. The chapter takes a ‘frontline’ [1-4] perspective, examining how these health professionals interpret, engage with, and are affected by regulation in the settings where they work.
