Association of autoimmunity and cicatricial pemphigoid: is there an immunogenetic basis?

Abstract:

A group of 34 patients with cicatricial pemphigoid was investigated for the presence of autoimmune disorders. Thirty-two percent of patients had autoimmune disease compared with 7% in the control population, a highly significant difference (p less than 0.002).
