Corporate values alignment: ideation, codification, and co-creation

Abstract:
To maintain competitive advantage while flexibly adapting to change in today's unpredictable business environment, it is critical for companies to foster organizational diversity (in respect of different sets of knowledge, perspective, experience, and insight) and agile decision-making. However, oftentimes, the greater the diversity of a company’s employees, the more challenging it becomes to form a consensus. If each employee understands the company’s corporate values (fundamental values), these values can serve as a foundation for thinking and making judgments, facilitating agile decision-making. In reality, many companies fail to fully utilize corporate values because the values are not appropriately defined or properly implemented within the organization. This paper presents a structural understanding of corporate values and a framework for defining and comprehensively implementing a company's fundamental values.
