Fabrication of random assemblies of metal nanobands: a general method.

Abstract:
(Figure Presented) The unique structure of a highly ordered pyrolytic-graphite (HOPG) surface is employed as a template to fabricate large random arrays of metal-nanoband electrodes. This process is achieved through selective blocking of the basal-plane HOPG (A) with a polymer film (B), followed by metal coating (C) and cleavage of the metal layer from the HOPG substrate (D; see picture). © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH and.
