Co-axial 2D Bragg structures for a high-power free electron maser
- Abstract:
- Coaxial 2D Bragg structures was developed for a high-power free electron maser. The structure was obtained by machining the corrugation on the surfaces of either inner or outer conductors of a coaxial waveguide. A two-dimensional Bragg structure was also obtained by lining the surface of outer conductor with a biperiodic dielectric. The analysis showed that the spurious azimuthal non-symmetric modes excited inside the cavity lie outside the reflection band of either the input or output mirrors.
