Mefloquine antimalarial prophylaxis in pregnancy: dose finding and pharmacokinetic study.

1. A dose finding pharmacokinetic study was performed in 20 Karen women in the third trimester of pregnancy receiving antimalarial prophylaxis with mefloquine. Ten received 250 mg mefloquine base weekly and ten received identical tablets of 125 mg base/week. 2. Both dose regimens were well tolerated.
