A regular array of identically sized microdroplets of 2.5 μm radius of the water-insoluble liquid N,N-didodecyl-N′,N′- diethylphenylenediamine (DDPD) is immobilized on the nonconducting hydrophobic polymer blocks of a gold partially blocked electrode.
