Ten papers, presented at a conference held by the Fundacion Banco Bilbao Vizcaya and the Centre for Economic Policy Research in San Sebastian, Spain, in March 1992, examine financial intermediation in light of the integration of financial markets in Europe and the possible emergence of a single European currency.
