In the Lake Tahoe-Truckee River area of northeastern California, a suite of latest Pliocene to Pleistocene volcanic rocks, termed the Tahoe-Truckee volcanic field (TTVF), overlies Miocene to Pliocene volcanic rocks of the Ancestral Cascades arc.
