Gene-targeted mice lacking the AMPA receptor subunit glutamate receptor-A (GluR-A or GluR1) and mice with cytotoxic hippocampal lesions were compared with wild-type and sham-operated controls, respectively, on a conditional learning task using an elevated T-maze.
