Predictive soil mechanics. Proceedings of the Wroth memorial symposium, Oxford, July 1992
- Abstract:
- This book contains 49 papers, abstracted separately, whose themes were soil properties and their measurement, especially by means of in situ tests, prediction and performance, and design methods. Many of the papers demonstrate the importance of careful measurement of soil properties, followed by the monitoring of behaviour of geotechnical constructions to verify the predictions which have been made. These concepts are illustrated in several case histories, which show how the process of prediction followed by field monitoring leads to more effective predictive and design methods. -from Publisher
