NEW SPECTROSCOPIC MEASUREMENTS VIA EXOTIC NUCLEAR REARRANGEMENT - REACTION MG-26(LI-7,B-8)NE-25

Abstract:
A 79-MeV Li7 beam and counter-telescope techniques were employed to observe the reaction Mg26(Li7, B8) Ne25. The cross section to the ground state was ∼ 350 nb/sr at forward angles and its Q value was -22.05±0.10 MeV, corresponding to a Ne25 mass excess of -2.18±0.10 MeV. Five excited states were also observed at 1.65±0.05, 2.03 ±0.05, 3.25±0.08, 4.05±0.08, and 4.7±0.1 MeV. © 1973 The American Physical Society.
