Application of super-resolution by focal series reconstruction to Nd5Ti5O17.

Abstract:: There is interest in complex titanates due to their dielectric proper-ties and usefulness in the electronics of microwave communications. One such material, Nd5Ti5O17, is also of interest because of its suitability for demonstrating the capabilities of HRTEM Focal Series Reconstructions. The location of the oxygens provides a suitable challenge for the technique and as the material is well characterised, an exit plane wave function can be predicted from the known structure, thus providing verification through comparison.
