The magmatic and eruptive response of arc volcanoes todeglaciation: Insights from southern Chile

Abstract:

In tectonic settings where decompression melting drives magmatism there is compelling evidence that changes in ice- or water-loading across glacial/interglacial cycles modulate activity. In contrast, the response of subduction-related volcanoes remains unclear.
