Analysis of transition edge sensor detector signals using principal component analysis
- Documentation:
-
This data was created for a paper on the analysis of transition edge detector signals. These detectors detect photon states, however, there is not a transparent link between the signal and the input state. The data enclosed results from the signals, after they have been compressed to a manageable file size using principal component analysis. In addition, the supporting data needed to approximately reconstruct the original signals is given.
The data was analyzed using Matlab, and the files are in a Matlab binary format.
scoreMatrix.mat is a matlab binary file (v7.3) that contains the first two principal components for the transition edge sensor signals that were used in our detector tomography analysis. The data is organised by file, and by trace within the file. The file also contains the mean pulse shape, along with the first 100 principal component vectors.
measuredPowers.mat contains the powers measured by the photodiode used to calibrate our experiment, along with the inferred photon number at the detector (for 1550 nm light).
