Lattice Boltzmann simulations of acoustic streaming

Abstract:
Lattice Boltzmann simulations are used to model the acoustic streaming produced by the interaction of an acoustic wave with a boundary. Comparison is made with analytic results for Rayleigh streaming in the appropriate limits and we show how deviations from those limits affect the streaming. Acoustic streaming patterns around a cylinder and between two plates of finite length are then predicted. © 2001 IOP Publishing Ltd.
