High resolution imaging studies of symmetric and asymmetric decahedral particles
- Abstract:
- The high resolution image contrast of the decahedral particle morphology has been examined for both symmetric and asymmetric particles. Only specific imaging conditions allow unambigious discrimination between the two models. The stability of the model particles under various potentials has also been investigated, indicating that the asymmetric decahedral particles are highly unstable kinetic forms.
