Financial risks and rewards in LNG projects: Qatar, Oman, and Yemen
- Abstract:
- Natural gas is increasingly the energy source of choice because of convenience, high thermal efficiency, and dative cleanliness when compared with oil or coal. Because of its gaseous nature transport poses a major obstacle to a more thorough penetration of world-wide energy markets. This obstacle can be overcome by long-term investments in transport infrastructure. This paper looks at projects designed to overcome the geographical limitations of the utilisation of Middle Eastern natural gas: the latest four Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects in the region.
