Abstract:

CONTEXT: The high-dose short Synacthen (corticotropin) test (SST) is widely used to investigate suspected secondary adrenal insufficiency, but concern remains about falsely reassuring results. OBJECTIVE: Our objective was to evaluate the long-term safety of the SST.
