ESTIMATION OF THE SIZE OF THE MUTATED SECTOR IN SODIUM-AZIDE MUTAGENIZED BARLEY

Abstract:: Sodium azide is now frequently used as a mutagen in barley. Data on the size and extent of the mutated sectors resulting from treatment with this mutagen are presented. Difficulties with respect to the interpretation of these data are pointed out, and the importance of gaining an understanding of the nature of mutated sectors in plant mutation studies is discussed. © 1982.
