Controlled hyperventilation using a new ventilation navigator software: a feasibility study to provoke hypocapnia and respiratory alkalosis
- Alternative title:
- A proposal for coronary artery vasoreactivity assessment
- Abstract:
- Lay Summary: In this study, we developed a respiration navigator software to govern patients breathing. We know that over-breathing can cause chest pain (angina) in patient with no blockages in their heart arteries because of the heart artery spasm. Our described controlled breathing technique, which we validated against capillary blood gas (blood CO2 and pH level) could provide a non-invasive tool to assess patients with angina and no blockages in their heart arteries.
