El programa de privatizaciones britanico: Una evoluacion economica.
- Abstract:
- This paper analyzes the British privatization experience since 1980, both theoretically and empirically, with regard to three issues: revenue raising, distributive and political objectives, and economic efficiency. The British telecommunications, gas, electricity, water, railway, and postal services industries are studied. The two main conclusions of the paper are that large amounts of revenues can be raised through privatization, although this may not increase the value of the Public Sector, and that privatization cannot be a substitute for competition policies.
