Chloroquine-primaquine (CQ-PQ) continues to be the frontline therapy for radical cure of Plasmodium vivax malaria. Emergence of CQ-resistant (CQR) P. vivax parasites requires shifting to artemisinin combination therapies (ACTs), which imposes a significant financial, logistical, and safety burden.
