A DC balancing algorithm for complex binary phase holograms

Abstract:

A new algorithm for producing DC balanced sets of holograms designed to be used on ferroelectric liquid crystal displays is presented in this article. The algorithm minimises Fourier plane intensity fluctuations while guarantees equal per-pixel phase states by exploiting phase shifting that are not be detected by photodetectors.
