Abstract:

BACKGROUND: CD4(+)CD25(+) regulatory T (T(reg)) cells can control the allergic response to allergen, airway eosinophilia and airway hypersensitivity. We speculated that chronic inflammation persisting in asthma airways is dependent on abnormalities of these T(reg) cells.
