Abstract:

Our biomimetic hypothesis proposes that families of diverse natural products with complex core structures such as 9,10-deoxytridachione, photodeoxytridachione and ocellapyrone A are derived in nature from a linear and conformationally strained all-( E) tetraene-pyrone precursor.
