NEW CONSTRAINTS FOR NORMAL-MODE ANALYSIS OF INELASTIC NEUTRON-SCATTERING SPECTRA - APPLICATION TO THE HF2- ION
- Abstract:
- Intensities of the overtone and combination bands of molecular vibrational INS spectroscopy have been used, for the first time, to constrain the normal coordinate refinement of a spectrum. This was performed on a new high resolution spectrum of NaHF2. The LO-TO splittings suggested previously by optical work are now clearly observed. The possibility of further constraining refinements, by using the momentum transfer variation of band intensities, is presented. © 1987 Springer-Verlag.
