Abstract:

Cessation of a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) is associated with SSRI discontinuation syndrome, which includes symptoms such as anxiety and sleep disturbances. Symptoms typically appear within a week of stopping treatment, can be severe, and can last for several weeks or even months in some patients.
