Abstract:

Background:Hospital wastewater is an increasingly recognized reservoir for resistant Gramnegative organisms. Factors involved in establishment and persistence of Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase-producing organisms (KPCO) in hospital wastewater plumbing are unclear.
