Lifting the lid on the potentiostat: a beginner's guide to understanding electrochemical circuitry and practical operation

This paper explains the process of designing, building and evaluating the Metrostat, a low-cost Arduino-based potentiostat for electrochemical studies. To evaluate the cost-effectiveness, the Metrostat was compared with a commercial device and with devices developed in other researches. Linear sweep voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry, polarization and chronoamperometry experiments were also performed to evaluate the performance of the potentiostat.
