- This dataset provides supporting information for the JGR Earth Surface article, "Mega Mounders: Burrowing Talitrids (Megalorchestia spp.) Excavate Large Quantities of Sand on California Beaches" (Baxter et al., 2026). Microsoft Excel file containing: (1) an eight-year (January 2013 to December 2020) dataset of talitrid amphipod biomass estimates from the Isla Vista Beach, California, US, and (2) a dataset of talitrid biomass estimates recorded along 25 km of shoreline between Haskell's Beach and the Santa Barbara Harbor breakwater in Santa Barbara County, California, on August 22–24, 2017. Biomass data was collected for each dataset using sediment cores 20 cm deep and 10 cm in diameter.
