Abstract:
The article focuses on the number of lines, rhyme scheme and metrical pattern in poems. It discusses George Puttenham's attention to accomptable number in the book "The Art of English Poesie" and poet W. S. Graham's remarks on the emergence of the count in the live and speaking idiom of the voice in poetry.
