Abstract:

This thesis reports on investigations into the synthesis, electronic structure and reactivity of Group 13 and 14 element compounds featuring multiple bonds to nitrogen, with emphasis on the design and stabilization of systems featuring unconventional bonding modes, supported by sterically encumbered boryl ligands.
