Robbery re-assessed

Abstract:
Offences of robbery are much in the news but there has been no systematic examination of the relevant law, procedure and sentencing structure. It is argued here that the offence is too broad, that this has procedural effects, and that it also encourages an insufficiently differentiated approach to sentencing.
